Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will play a strategic role in the planning, coordination, and optimization of feeder vessel operations. The role requires advanced analytical and operational expertise in fleet and liner operations, focusing on cost-effectiveness and service efficiency.
The Manager (Feeder Services) will be responsible for selecting suitable vessels with optimal intake capacity based on volume forecasts, vessel design, and port limitations. The candidate will coordinate with the legal team to handle claims related to cargo, container, or vessel damage.
Another major responsibility involves analyzing market demand and supply dynamics to optimize trade routes. This includes working closely with the marketing team to forecast demand, adjust to seasonality, and align schedules with MLO mother vessel connectivity.
The role also involves revenue management by prioritizing cargo with the highest yield (Net-to-Vessel Returns), designing slot allocation plans that balance fixed commitments and flexible availability, and implementing strategies like General Rate Increases (GRIs), Rate Restorations (RRs), and Critical Bunker Recovery (CBR) based on cost trends.
The manager will supervise performance across the full service rotation, ensuring efficiency in vessel turnaround, cargo handling, and customer service. Feasibility studies for launching new services and improving current routes will also be a regular responsibility.
Qualification and Experience
The ideal candidate must meet one of the following two pathways:
Option one is a Master Mariner (FG) with sailing experience on container vessels in a senior position, along with a minimum of two years’ shore experience in fleet, liner operations, or terminal operations.
Option two is a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from an HEC-recognized university, with at least six years’ experience in fleet, liner, or terminal operations.
Maximum Age Limit
The maximum age limit for this post is 50 years.
Employment Type
The selected candidate will be appointed on a contract basis. The initial contract duration is two years, extendable based on performance and mutual agreement.
Salary Package
A market-based salary package will be offered, commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience.
