🧭 Key Responsibilities
🔹 Guide ship officers to improve performance and align with commercial and operational objectives
🔹 Monitor and record ship performance metrics to identify costly areas and suggest improvements
🔹 Manage ship repairs at competitive rates with systematic execution and quality control
🔹 Prepare and maintain repair logs to ensure continuity across personnel changes
🔹 Oversee dry docking processes and finalize associated billing
🔹 Contribute to crew training and ship machinery upgrades or replacements
🔹 Estimate budgets for repair and maintenance operations
🔹 Coordinate with Stores and Bunker/Spares Departments to ensure quality supplies in line with SMS standards
🔹 Supervise all internal and external ship repairs and maintenance
🔹 Ensure vessels operate safely, efficiently, cost-effectively, and pollution-free
🔹 Guarantee that all vessels meet classification and statutory survey requirements
🔹 Handle ship emergencies and maintain operational safety across fleets
🎓 Qualification & Experience
🔹 Must possess a Certificate of Competency Class 1 (Motor)
🔹 Minimum 3 years of sailing experience as Chief Engineer on Tanker or Bulker on Foreign Going (FG) vessels within the last 10 years
✅ Preferred Experience Includes:
🔹 Shore-based experience in ship management, including dry docking and procurement
🔹 Hands-on experience managing fleet and crew operations
🔹 Budget and financial control in ship operations
🔹 Strong knowledge of technical operations and safety/environmental compliance
🔹 Experience with contract writing and technical documentation
🔹 Familiarity with ISO 9000 Quality Management, PPRA, and ERP systems
🧓 Maximum Age Limit: 57 years
