Death of a Righteous Person – Hadith about Comfort after Death

 

🌙 Hadith of the Day

Arabic Text:

مُسْتَرِيْحٌ وَمُسْتَرَاحٌ مِنْهُ

(صحیح بخاری: 6512)

Urdu Translation (اردو ترجمہ):

حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:

"کوئی راحت پانے والا ہے اور کوئی جس سے راحت پائی جائے۔"

صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم نے پوچھا:
"یا رسول اللہ! راحت پانے والا کون ہے اور جس سے راحت پائی جائے وہ کون ہے؟"

آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا:

"مومن بندہ جب مرتا ہے تو دنیا کی مشکلات اور مصیبتوں سے راحت پاتا ہے اور بدکار آدمی کے مرنے سے لوگ، شہر، درخت اور جانور راحت پاتے ہیں۔"

Translation:

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

"There is relief and comfort in death. Either the deceased finds rest, or people find rest from them."

Explanation (Brief Reflection):

Once, the funeral of a person passed by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He said:

"Relief or relieved from."

The companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is relief and who is relieved from?"

He ﷺ replied:

"A believer finds relief in death from the hardships and troubles of this world and moves towards Allah’s mercy and blessings. As for a wicked person, people, cities, trees, and animals find relief from their evil."

💡 Lesson:

This Hadith reminds us that death is not an end but a relief for the righteous believer who patiently endures worldly difficulties. It motivates us to live with sincerity and righteousness to receive Allah’s mercy after life’s tests.
